Steven Hosts New Reelin' In The Years' Demo Reel
"What
turns you on, baby? The Electric Prunes? The Yardbirds? The Pretty Things? The
Kinks? There's only one go-to cat. David Peck is the man. He's gone, he is the
coolest of the cool. I mean he swings, baby. You dig?" --

SAN
DIEGO, CA Reelin In The Years Productions has just released its newest
demo reel, a 20-minute musical journey through its extraordinary archive, entertainingly
hosted by Steven Van Zandt (aka Little Steven). Since
the last demo reel was produced in 2000, RITYs archive has grown from nine
to 24 international libraries (and counting), becoming the largest and most respected
source for music performance footage in the world. From rock to soul to punk to
jazz, RITYs library covers six decades of popular music, and all of it is
available for licensing to every form of media. The new demo reel offers just
a taste of the gems lurking within RITYs vaults. Highlights
of the demo reel include the earliest known footage of the Rolling Stones (1964),
Nirvana bursting into spontaneous song during a backstage interview in Belgium
(1992), Linda Ronstadt musing about rock star burn-out on the beach in California
(1976), Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Sonny Boy Williamson on stage together
in Germany during the famed American Folk Blues Festival tours (1963), pop sensation
Britney Spears on Dutch TV at the start of her solo career (1999), recent Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame inductees AC/DC performing with lead singer Bon Scott in
Melbourne (1976), and Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers mischievously
pulling Fleas pants down backstage at an outdoor festival in Holland (1988). Also
featured are John Lennons last public performance (1975), Eric Clapton talking
about the blues in his earliest known interview (1967), Billy Idol appearing on
Australian television (1984), jazz great John Coltrane performing on German television
(1961), the first known live performance of The Whos My Generation
(1965), rap/hip-hop artists OutKast taking over the stage at Hollands PinkPop
Festival (2001), and Santana and Ike & Tina Turner on stage in Africa for
the concert film Soul To Soul (1971), to be released on DVD by RITY. Best-known
as Bruce Springsteens E Street Band guitarist, Steven Van Zandt also stars
as Silvio in HBOs current award-winning series The Sopranos. He also hosts
the syndicated radio show Little Stevens Underground Garage. An enthusiastic
RITY supporter, Little Steven not only served as host but wrote his own material
for the new demo. Van Zandt's own musical history is represented in the RITY archive
with a vintage clip of Little Steven and his backing band, the Disciples of Soul
(1983). Companies
who use music footage in their programming and products can receive a free copy
of the new RITY demo reel by visiting the Reelin In The Years Productions
