PRESS RELEASE

Marvin GayeRITY President David Peck, Quincy Jones, Vice-President Phil Galloway and Art Director Tom Gulotta at the home of Quincy Jones.

Reelin' In The Years Productions' staff present Quincy Jones with the Jazz Icons boxed set.

LOS ANGELES, September 28, 2006 – Reelin’ In The Years Productions President David Peck, Vice-President Phil Galloway and Art Director Tom Gulotta were invited to the home of Quincy Jones in Bel Air to present him with the entire set of Jazz Icons DVDs. Jones' ’Live in ’60 is a featured part of the series and Quincy was gracious enough early on to contribute a quote which became the essential endorsement for the series:

“The release of Jazz Icons™ is like the unearthing of a musical time capsule—an audio-visual treasure trove of the music that changed the world. From Big Band and Bebop to Dixieland and Cool, it’s all here and it all swings. These jazz legends, from Dizzy and Count to Louis and Ella, are the Bachs and Beethovens of our generation. From an educational standpoint this series is a gift to our culture. I’m honored to be a featured part of it, but I’m more thrilled just to sit down and watch it with my grandkids.”

—Quincy Jones

Quincy was touched by the care and dedication put into the entire series, from content to packaging, and spoke excitedly with the RITY team about promoting the series as an educational tool, stressing his desire to see these DVDs part of a mandated curriculum in cultural studies and American history throughout every level of our nation's school systems.
